Is my property eligible for short-term rentals in NYC?
Do I need to be on-site during guest stays?
In most NYC residential buildings, short-term rental under 30 days require the host to be physically present, according to Local Law 18. This means that you, or a designated host, must be living in the unit during the guest’s stay.
However, there are important exptions.
- 1-2 family homes where the host lives in one of the units may be eligible for entire-unit rental.
